Publishers' tan cloth with black titles to spine and company crest to upper board, in printed price-clipped dust-jacket. Edges lightly rubbed; text-block edge a little foxed; contents clean and crisp with no annotation or inscriptions. Jacket toned to spine with minor nicks & creases top edge. A very well preserved crisp copy: Near Fine in like jacket. The War history of the oldest and most famous of territorial regiments, which received its Royal Charter in 1537,much earlier than any regiment of the regular army. The First Battalion sailed for France in September 1914 followed by the Second in October 1916, while two Horse Artillery batteries sailed for Egypt in 1915, and two second-line batteries and a siege battery served in France.
