Sobre este artículo

New York: Random House, 1958. Second Printing. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo. Pp. [2], 3-243. Bound in black half-cloth over green paper-covered boards, lettering stamped in blue and white on spine. Top edge dyed gray. One corner bumped. In the illustrated dust jacket, price-clipped, that shows light edge-wear. Holmes' novel set in the after-hours world of jazz clubs, where the players pushed their material to the front burner and turned it on high. Dust jacket illustration is uncredited, but it resembles the shoe drawings of Andy Warhol, as well as his dust jacket for the Walter Ross novel The Immortal (1958). Holmes is credited as coining the phrase "beat generation;" indeed, this novel is dedicated to "Shirley" and Jack Kerouac. Dust jacket is now housed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
