Chicago: Albert Whitman & Company. Very Good. 1951. Hardcover. 95 p. 22 cm. This is not the book club edition. Sound and square binding in yellow cloth-covered boards. Bottom corners bumped. Some glue? remains in the front gutter. Inside pages are clean, bright and unmarked overall with one page having a light smudge mark. Dust jacket has some edge and corner wears with a bit of paper loss. A few short tears (three repaired with acid-free document mending tape). Paper clip impression on the front flap. Not price clipped ($2.50). Colour illustrated endpapers and black and white illustrations within. The story of a horse named Scalawag, previously owned by a circus clown, and now frustrating the people of Willow Grove with his tricks. Scal proves his merit in the end and wins respect. .
