Hinge cracked with binding stitching intact pages 72/73. Start of hingecrack inside last blank page in back after single ad for the Sportsmen's Emporium in New York City. Both of these are noted, but do not affect binding integrity. Stitching is visible but holding. 131 pages with index. Pages yellowing. Previous owner bookplate fep. Overall a nice copy of scarce first edition of this title. According to the preface: To ascertain what constitutes strict soundness in the horse; to note deviations from soundness unimportant except as to their effect on the market value of the animal; and general observations on used horses.. Illus. by Illustrated. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Very Good/No Jacket.
