Sobre este artículo

London: Herbert Jenkins, No date [1940]. [Classic Humour] SIXTH PRINTING. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.312; [8], publisher's advertisements. Publisher's bright orange boards lettered in black to upper and spine, illustrative dust-jacket. Toning to edges of textblock, bumping to spine and corners, wearing and creasing to edges of dust-jacket, price to spine is worn and torn with a 2cm chip. Very good. This is the sixth printing of 'Hot Water' as on the copyright page it reads 'Sixth printing completing 59,007 copies. Eileen McIlvaine in 'P.G Wodehouse a Comprehensive Bibliography and Checklist' suggests this edition was published in 1940. Château Blissac pleases everyone expect for the current occupier, J. Wellington Gedge. While Mrs Gedge believes that Mr Gedge should become American Ambassador to Paris, he wants the more relaxed life of a Californian. Their differing values are bound to cause a comedic conflict; with the P.G. Wodehouse website stating that 'the heady atmosphere of France in the 1930s makes for one of Wodehouse's most delightful comedies.'. McIlvaine, Eileen. 'P.G. Wodehouse a Comprehensive Bibliography and Checklist' A47a note 3.
