Pp. 350(last colophon), frontispiece, plus 32 full page illustrations; red ribbed cloth, spine lettered in gilt and decorated in blind, the upper board lettered and decorated in blind, boards a trifle soiled and slightly damp stained, corners lightly worn, the spine faded; inked ownership and gift inscriptions (one dated 23/3/29) on the upper free endpaper and faintly offset onto pastedown), hinges tender at a couple of points, minor bleeding of cloth colour onto fore-edge of last few leaves, a little light foxing and occasional faint soiling; T. Fisher Unwin Ltd, London, 1922. Second impression. [Goodacre, p. 461]. *One of Nesbit's time-travel books. First published in 1908, after serialisation in the The Strand Magazine from January to November of that year.
Sinopsis
Edith Nesbit (1858-1924) was an English author and poet whose children’s works were published under the name E. Nesbit. Born in London, she became active in politics, and in 1884 helped to found the Fabian Society. She wrote or collaborated on over 60 books of fiction for children, her best known including The Railway Children and The Story of the Treasure Seekers. Several of her books have been made into films.
