Sobre este artículo

London: Virtue & Co., Limited, 1878. First Limited. Very Good+. The "Mastiffs" was a yacht owned by John Burns (Lord Inverclyde), who took a small group on a trip to the Faroes and Iceland in 1878 The group included the then famous author Anthony Trollope, with the condition that he would write a narrative of the voyage Another passenger, Mrs Blackburn, was enlisted to do drawings of the party experience Trollope wrote this story of the voyage, and it was published privately later in the same year It was distributed as a memento of the trip for just the passengers and a small number of friends It was never made available for saie It is therefore one of the scarcest Trollope titles

This is a beautifully rebound copy in 3/4 red morocco on red cloth boards, including new endpapers Raised bands and gilt titles on spine and gilt ruling on both covers Top edge gilt Frontispiece map, 14 drawing pages and 2 photo pages are all present
The new binding is tight and sound The text is unusually clean and bright, with no marks Very slight foxing on a few of the plates and slight age darkening at the page edges This copy has the cleanest text of the several copies I have seen
[Sadleir 51] 46 pp.

Sobre Stanley Louis Remarkable Books (IOBA)

Seller of high quality books and ephemera, emphasizing older and unusual items, such as signed or association copies. I try to offer the kind of books, at fair prices, that appeal to me, hoping that they will appeal to others also.
