First American Edition, the true first edition having been published in the same year in London by John Murray. Simple printed brown paper over boards, soiled a bit, chipped a bit at spine head and foot, moderately toned of interior. Fine handmade pastepaper dust-wrapper in pink and light blue, moderately worn and abraded, chipped a bit at spine head and foot. Samuel Rogers (30 July 1763 – 18 December 1855), according to his Wikipedia entry, "was an English poet, during his lifetime one of the most celebrated, although his fame has long since been eclipsed by his Romantic colleagues and friends Wordsworth, Coleridge and Byron." His vocation was as a banker and as a finely discriminating art collector. 62 pp. plus publisher's ads for additional new items.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
