Spine cloth darkened, spine titles faded but clear, spine ends frayed, light soiling to covers, corners bumped, interior toned, spine a bit shaky but hinges and text secure, corner of page 9 torn off not affecting text, text clean, prior owner's pencil signature on front endpaper. Yezierska's first book, a collection of short stories previously published in magazines, and later made into a movie, about Jewish immigrant ghetto life on the Lower East Side of New York. Scarce first printing of author's first book.
