First edition, first impression; 56 pages, original illustrated endpapers; black and white illustrations throughout. Original red cloth backed printed boards; a little worn and rubbed, lightly marked, corners more worn. Contents clean and tight, no inscriptions, endpapers with some light general wear, a little marked with some toning, short crack to head of internal hinge, book remains strongly bound. A very good first edition copy. Biographical note: "The full page drawings originally appeared in The Sketch, The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, The Strand Magazine, Person's Magazine, London Opinion"..
