Sobre este artículo
Univ of Chicago Pr, 1972. Soft cover. Very Good. Association copy, inscribed to naturalist-author, MacArthur Genius Grant-- and John Burroughs Medal-winner Gary Paul Nabhan, known in particular for his writing on Indigenous populations and their ethnobotany in the desert Southwest: "For Gary Nabhan--Who knows and respects the traditions that have grown from our continent, and so beautifully evokes the richness of it. With my gratitude for your work and friendship. Dick Nelson, Phoenix, March 1990." A wonderful association between these environmental writers. Nelson also won the John Buroughs Medal for natural history writing for The Island Within. Later printing softcover. A few faint stains to the cover and a very mild crease running about half way down the cover's middle. Wear and one small tear to lower spine. A book about Eskimo or Inuit hunting techniques learned firsthand, with the author's photographs. Scarce signed.

Sobre Rural Hours
Rural Hours (formerly Wood + River = Books, est. 2019) specializes in ecology, natural history, nature writing, the environment, environmental literature, and contemporary essay, with a special passion for association copies and notable inscriptions. We draw our name from the popular-but-then-forgotten book by Susan Fenimore Cooper (published in 1850), generally considered the first work of environmental creative nonfiction by a woman in the U.S. We are interested in challenging and expanding the canon of environmental literature and finding books that tell remarkable stories and illuminate the tradition of writing about place and natural history.
