Some of the authors: Madison Grant is credited with the saving of many different species of animals, founding environmental and philanthropic organizations, and developing much of the discipline of wildlife management. Lincoln Ellsworth was a polar explorer and a major benefactor of the American Museum of Natural History. Frederick Russell Burnham, world-traveling adventurer, taught woodcraft to Robert Baden-Powell and helped inspire the international Scouting Movement.
