Sobre este artículo

New York, NY: Random House, 2000. First Edition [stated], presumed first printing. Hardcover. Very good/Very good. Gabi Rona. viii, [10], 189, [1] p. Facsimile and other illustrations. Minor soiling on title page. Inscribed by Nancy on the half-title page. The inscription reads "To Cynthia & Dick with love and best wishes Nancy. The letters that Ronald Reagan wrote to Nancy Reagan, from their courtship in 1950 to his Alzheimer's letter to the nation in 1994, are collected in this touching book, accompanied by Mrs. Reagan's reflections on the life they have shared for almost half a century. Includes 54 letters and telegrams. 38 photos. An interesting aspect of this book is that the inside of the front cover and the front of the first end paper appear to be bound in upside-down. Nancy Davis Reagan (born Anne Frances Robbins; July 6, 1921 - March 6, 2016) was a film actress and the second wife of Ronald Reagan, the 40th president of the United States. In 1952, she married Ronald Reagan. Reagan was the first lady of California when her husband was governor from 1967 to 1975, and she began to work with the Foster Grandparents Program. Reagan became First Lady of the United States in January 1981. She championed recreational drug prevention causes when she founded the "Just Say No" drug awareness campaign. She had a strong influence on her husband and played a role in a few of his major decisions. After Ronald Reagan's term as president ended, Nancy devoted most of her time to caring for her husband, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 1994, until his death at the age of 93 on June 5, 2004. Reagan remained active within the Reagan Library and in politics until her death in 2016. No matter what else was going on in his life or where he was traveling to make movies, at the White House, or sometimes just across the room Ronald Reagan wrote letters to Nancy Reagan, to express his love, thoughts, and feelings, and to stay in touch. Through these extraordinary letters and reflections, the private character and life of an American president and his first lady are revealed. Nancy Reagan reflects with love and insight on the letters, on her husband, and on the many phases of their life together. A love story spanning half a century and the private life of this classic American couple come vividly alive in this rare and inspiring book."
