She tricks him into the tourney for her favour but when he wins she spurns every advance that he makes. Pelleas is usurped by Gawain under pretence of assisting him and he rides off into the woods where Percivale tends and enlightens him as to the failure of the knightly code in Arthurs?s court. Everything is not sweetness and light in Camelot. Betrayal, corruption and decay rule. Whilst Arthur is ?up North? subduing the Red Knight, Little Dragonet, the King?s fool, meets with Sir Tristram who has won the ?Tournament of Dead Innocence,? and discusses the decline of morality amongst the Knights.
