The author states that in 1901 Mr. R.J. Chomeley's edition of Theocritus induced him to revised his work. Changes had been made here and there in his translation in concsequence. He had however, not been able to see eye to eye with Cholmeley in every particular. Most of the alterations he made was for the sake of great elegance and euphony.
