An essential reference containing biographical details of the artists and Part II (pp 206-566) bibliographical details of the books. Approximately 1,200 entries. Appendices provide a list of titles showing Chinese and Japanese characters, a chronological list of books with classification by subject-matter and index of publishers, engravers, printers and bookbinders.
