L. Upcott Gill,, 1887.. hardcover. Used, good. Attractive set though rated as "good plus" condition. 8 volumes, complete (divisions I-VII plus "supplement" volume). Original 1887 edition/printing, published by L. Upcott Gill (London). Oversize dark green cloth hardcovers with elaborate gold and black embossed lettering and illustration; all page edges gilded; each volume has at least 3 gorgeous color full-page plant illustrations. CONDITION: Covers have generally light wear (one is a little more than light), illustrations on front covers are clear and bright; illustrations on spine not quite perfect but faded on only two volumes. Bindings a little weak but sound; a couple of rear endpaper hingeshave split, others fragile. Light foxing throughout, sporadically heavy. A nice though somewhat fragile set.
