Translated into English under the direction of the Author, by Eleuterio Baca, of Las Vegas, N.M. 812pp. Illustrations from photographs, printed errata slip tipped-in. New red cloth, leather labels, gilt, endpapers renewed. Some library stamps (withdrawn) to title page, else a fine copy. Very scarce. This notable work covers the period of early exploration, the Indians and their culture, the work of missionaries, the various governments of New Mexico, and more. The Argonaut Book Shop was founded in 1941 in the middle of the financial district of San Francisco. The Argonaut was a founding member of the Antiquarian Booksellers\' Association of America and has been a member in good standing ever since. The Shop is now located just three blocks from Union Square in downtown San Francisco and is open six days a week. Parking facilities include ample street space and a parking garage close by.
