Text and all plates in fine condition, cloth covers have a few small spots and a little bit of wear at the spine due to the spirial comb binding, binding is solid and with all pages intact. Brief gift inscription on free endpaper dated Christmas 1946.

Each depiction of game is described by one of the era's most distinguished authorities on wildlife. Text is clean and unmarked with no prior owner attribution. Red outer cover contains a black seal with a gilted title and small gilt outline of a deer stag's head. Covers have light water stains that do not affect interior text.
