London: H.Hooper for the Topographical Society, 1840 "Stone is a small village on the high road from London to Dover, seventeen miles from the metropolis, bounded on the north by the River Thames; - it is in the hundred of Axtane, and the diocese of Rochester." Sixteen pages of text, seventeen full page plates drawn and engraved by various hands, and published by the Topographical Society during 1839 and 1840. The text pages are clean, the plates are lightly aged and foxed. An extremely scarce item enclosed in a new cloth binding.
