Sobre este artículo
London: Printed for R. and J. Dodsley, 1754. 20pp, [4]. With a half-title and two final leaves of publisher's advertisements. Disbound Inked numeral to head of dust-soiled half-title, else clean and crisp. The first edition of the first published work of Church of England clergyman Thomas Denton (bap. 1723, d. 1777), a devotional meditation on mutability and immortality written partly in Spenserian stanza. Thomas Parnell's popular Night-Piece on Death was likely an influence. Denton's poem went into a second edition the following year, and after its inclusion in publisher Robert Dodsley's Collection of Poems became one of the more frequently reprinted imitations of Spenser. ESTC records copies at five locations in the British Isles (BL, Cambridge, Hull, Manchester, and Oxford), and a further 14 worldwide. ESTC T3701.. First edition. Quarto.

Antiquates Ltd
Antiquates Ltd was established by Tom Lintern-Mole in 2007; we travel far and wide to buy, sell, and advise on rare books and manuscripts.
Concentrating on hand-press printing and early modern manuscripts, we pride ourselves on offering a varied selection of antiquarian works on a diverse range of subjects, leaning towards the interesting, the important, and the unusual.
We have a countryside bookshop in Wareham; we also regularly issue catalogues - do ask if you would like to be added to our mailing list - and frequently exhibit at regional and national book fairs in London, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Oxford, and York.
We also offer a valuation service (for either insurance or probate purposes), as well as advice on library development.
