Covers lightly rubbed with some short tears to head and tail of spines, loss to head and tail on one volume; interior in very good, clean condition, with previous owner's stamp to front fly leaf, a few small soiled spots, minor abrasions to one color plate (Races of Mankind) and one loose color plate (dogs). Title continues: "a Comprehensive Dictionary of Universal Biography, etc." In addition to the vibrantly colored plates there are color maps of the states of the United States (and additional world maps in color) plus two large fold-out maps, one of Alaska showing the Routes to the Yukon Gold Fields and another of South Africa and adjacent countries.
