Books have shelfwear, sunning to spine, discoloration to inside covers and endpapers, and a former owner's name on the inside covers; Slipcase has shelfwear, edgewear, bumped corners, sunning, soiling, an old price in ink, toning, dampstaining, and a tear to the top of slipcase (about half an inch). Interiors are otherwise clean, unmarked, and tight. 8vo. - over 7¾' in - 9¾' in.

John Lloyd Stephens was an American explorer whose reports on long-forgotten Mayan ruins in Central America caused a resurgence of popular and scholarly interest in the ancient people.
