There is a full index covering all the artists, engravers, publishers and printers listed in the text, as well as all the regimental and subject references noted, thus enabling a print to be identified with a minimum of difficulty. Over15,000 plates are recorded, in sets, collections, and books, and as single prints. The prints here recorded fall broadly into five classes: Costume, Battles, Incidents, Caricatures, and Portraits. "The perfect print is one in the state in which it was published: that is, with title, number, artist's, engraver's and publisher's names, and address and date intact. For this reason, wherever possible these details are given, as well as the print size. Many sets of prints have been broken up for individual sale, as also book plates as prints become scarcer. Very Good in slightly used dustwrapper which has minor edgewear.
