Massive catalogue for Zao's 1996 retrospective at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, which featured 78 oil paintings from 1935 to 1994.
Each painting receives a full page in the catalogue, with exhibition history on the opposite page. Essays in English and Chinese by Georges Duby and Daniel Marchesseau, followed by color plates of the paintings, Zao's life chronology compiled by Françoise Marquet, a list of exhibitions, a list of public institutions that own works by Zao, and a bibliography. The catalogue is especially valuable for the life chronology.
