Sobre este artículo
1773. LONGHI, Francesco M. Informazione alli forestieri delle cose piu notabili della citta, e stato di Bologna. [1] -190, [2], iv pp., illustrated with fold out engraved map by P. Panfili (376 x 424 mm. unfolded), 2 small ornamental woodcuts and decorated initial. Small 8vo, 143 x 98 mm., bound in cream paper over boards with paper title label, speckled edges. Bologna: Nella Stamp del Longhi, 1773. Rare first edition (OCLC and RLIN do not list any earlier editions), with large pristine engraved fold-out map of "Pianta della città di bologna" by P. Panfili, marking all various bridges, palazzi and other points of interest around the city. Depicts in fine detail six important structures in late eighteenth-century Bologna: Foro de'Mercanti (Mercanzia Square); Scuole Publiche, o sia Università (Bolognese Studio); Instituto delle Scienze (Bologna's University); Zecca (the mint, closed in 1860); Fonte publico (Neptune's fountain); and Palazzo publico (Accursio Palace--town hall). Four pages of errata following the text. There is some light rubbing to extremities of binding, spine paper label with small tear, otherwise fine, map is in fine condition. RLIN lists only four copies of this early edition (National Gallery of Art, The Getty, Columbia University, and Canadian Centre for Architecture). OCLC lists only one that loosely matches the pagination and measurements, although no date is given (at the Bibliotheque d'Art et d'Archeologie). I libri di viaggio e le guide della raccolta Luigi Vittorio Fossati Bellani III, 2677 (later edition).
