London: Richard Bentley. Bound in brown half leather with gilt lettering to spine, (corners in vellum, spine is brown leather) this hardback book is close VG condition. (V111)/451pp with 34 chapters. Three small abrasions to foot of spine, front board hinge slightly tender. A rubber-stamped bookplate of 'G.Skivington, Newsagent, Hythe, Southampton' is pasted down on the inside of the front board. Half title missing as shown by remaining torn stub. Minor foxing to second of three title pages which has steel engraved centered vignette, opposite full-page steel engraved frontis with tissue guard Some foxing at start and end of text block: minor water-stains to both sets of endpapers. Overall condition is Good to VG . Very Good. Quarter-Leather. 1st Edition. 1841.
