    Punton, of Kansas City, MO, was "professor of Nervous and Mental Diseases University Medical College, Member of American Neurological Association, Member American Psychological Association, [and] Ex-President Kansas City Academy of Medicine."
    Provenance: On the front wrapper, a stamp from Yale University Library dated February 23, 1920; library numbers in blue pencil are in the bottom corner.

Gift inscription signed by the author on the title page verso dated Christmas 1923. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Very Good +; bumped tips; light edgewear; light foxing to endpapers; repaired tear in front internal hinge paper. No DJ. Textured green cloth boards and spine with gilt embossed title on the front board. Brown textured endpapers. 170 pp 12mo. It apparently took Dr. Punton over a year to get this book printed as his trip ended in May 1922 and this book was released at Christmastide 1923 which with the days from Christmas to the coming of the Magi (Jan 6) it would be in early 1924. The book is a detailed in text and photographs of a trip the doctor and friends made to the Mediterranean, the Middle East and into Europe. Kansas City: Punton Brothers Publishing Co., 1924. 8vo, pp. 170. Many photographic illustrations within text. Original textured green cloth, front board embossed with red and gold panels. A touch of spotting, contents page marked. Ownership inscription to title-page dated 2014. A scarce travelogue by Dr John Punton, an Englishman who emigrated to the USA at the age of 18 and trained as a doctor, working in various asylums on his way to a post at The University of Missouri Medical School. It was published by the publishing house formed by two of his sons, Frank and John Jr., and is unknown to Library Hub, with Worldcat listing copies in Harvard Medical School and the universities of Depauw and North Carolina only.
