Ownership blind-stamp twice to first blank; no annotation or inscriptions. A Near Fine copy. The illustrations without the text of the comprehensive family history of the Heapes of Heape, Staley, Saddleworth and Rochdale, and with the pedigrees that appeared within the text leaves of the original book omitted. A magnificent production bound in full decorated vellum. The authors state in the introduction that the work cost them £1700 to produce. Excellent condition and it should be noted that the large main pedigree normally inserted in a pocket at the back of the book is here bound separately in leather. There is a chapter on the Heapes and Australia 1839 to 1867.
