Sobre este artículo
One of the original "Mercury Seven" astronauts, Carpenter was a versatile aviator, aeronautical engineer, test pilot -- second American to orbit the earth (after Glenn), fourth American in space. Color IPS (magazine stock), 7½" X 10", n.p., n.y. Very good. Trimmed edges. Heavy stock color front cover of "Life" magazine -- the May 18, 1962 issue, though date trimmed off -- being a closeup photograph of "Astronaut Scott Carpenter and His Wife Rene." Just left of center, across his wife's blond hair, he inscribes and signs large and bold in blue ballpoint: "Good luck to Donald / Scott Carpenter." Though trimmed down from this magazine's larger size, the image is bright, bold and appealing and signed at the height of his early fame.
