The Man with the Cast Iron Stomach" (which opponents loved to jump on) was an American wrestling star who debuted in 1953, held numerous world championships and reached the height of his popularity in the 1960s and '70s. IPS, 8" X 10", n.p., n.y. [ca. 1960]. Very good. Minor tape stain at each corner. A handsome, smiling bare-chested portrait of Gomez in his heyday, inscribed in blue ballpoint at lower right "to Donald / Buena Suerte [Good Luck] / Pepper Gomez." Ink rather light, thus contrast is fair only. Still, an attractive piece and an uncommon autograph.
