Pp. xx+480, frontispiece and 7 plates with tissue guards, text illustrations; nineteenth century half green morocco, the spine lettered and decorated with four small hunting vignettes in gilt, marbled papered boards, lightly rubbed, edges slightly worn, spine uniformly faded to brown; t.e.g.; marbled endpapers, hinges starting, early inked signature on recto of frontispiece, a couple of small edge chips or splits, a little light foxing and occasional faint soiling; Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown, and Green, London, 1830. Sixth edition. *From the library of firearms collector Douglas Mills, with his business card laid on blank preliminary leaf and his inked acquisition note on recto of lower free endpaper. All plates are present, but one (Punt and Gear for a 200lb. Gun) is misplaced. Tipped-in after the last Contents page is a printed slip recording a delay in publication of this edition 'in consequence of an accident with one of the plates.'.
