Complete with 10 engraved plates, including frontispiece and additional vignette illustrations. Bound in early 19th century half calf and blue marbled paper over boards with blind dog-tooth rolls to corners and spine; gilt spine ornaments and title; marbled edges. Calf rubbed to edges and joints, some light scattered foxing throughout. Contents are complete, tight, square, clean and free from inscriptions or annotations. A Very Good copy. Hawker's highly influential guide on field sports in an attractive contemporary binding. Hawker was one of the "great shots" of his era and his Instructions to Young Sportsmen became one of the most widely read and admired books on sports in the nineteenth century.
