Sobre este artículo

2010. ISBN-13: 9781584779933; ISBN-10: 1584779934. An Erudite Handbook on Roman Law Irving, David. An Introduction to the Study of the Civil Law. Originally published: London: A. Maxwell, 1837. [iv], 284 pp. Reprinted 2010, 2019 by The Lawbook Exchange, Ltd. ISBN-13: 9781584779933; ISBN-10: 1584779934. Hardcover. New. $24.95 * Reprint of the fourth and final edition. David Irving [1778-1860] was originally a biographer, librarian and a prolific author on a variety of subjects. He established his reputation in 1807 with Memoirs of the Life and Writings of George Buchanan. After its publication he turned to the law and obtained the LL.D. from Marischal College, Aberdeen, in 1808. He published Observations on the Study of the Civil Law in 1815 as a pamphlet to aid candidates for admission into the Faculty of Advocates. It was enlarged in 1820 when he was appointed keeper of the library of the Faculty of Advocates, and again in 1823. It reached its final form in this volume in 1837. Much more than a study book, this is an excellent guide and reference enhanced by Irving's graceful prose and detailed knowledge of classical literature.
