Illustrated green publisher’s cloth, cover art by Eitzen, w/ d.j. wraparound cover art by Eitzen (slight shelfwear, very slight rubbing), NF/NF copy, inscribed by author on ffep., w/ skull & crossbones illust. First edition, inscribed, of the Caldecott-winning author’s first real mystery set against the backdrop of a series of pet thefts in Conway, MA, with some characters from the author’s life. Eitzen would later illustrated Yolen’s poetry anthology, “Alphabestiary.”
