Johann Georg Roederer (1726-1763), "der erste Professor der Geburtshilfe der Göttinger Universität, geb. 15. Mai 1726 zu Strassburg, wo er auch seine Fachstudien absolvirte, verweilte 1747 zu seiner weiteren Ausbildung längere Zeit in Paris und reiste 1748 nach London, wo er unter Hunter Anatomie, med. Praxis unter Lobb und namentlich unter Smellie Geburtshilfe trieb.
