Contemporary binding of full tan calf. Spine with raised bands. Compartments double ruled in gilt. hand written paper title label (probably 19th century) with small area of loss to the top right corner. Boards with double gilt ruled borders. Hinges cracked but still firm. Edges rubbed and bit scuffed but still a tight and well bound copy of this interesting title which describes a Collection of protests made in the House of Lords.

Illustrated with 2 full page sepia aquatints, 12 line maps and 5 fine woodcut vignettes within the text. A very good copy in contemporary half brown calf. Spine with gilt thick and thin ruled and piped lines and oval centre pieces. Red morocco label, gilt. Marbled paper on boards. Edges a bit rubbed and bumped and small amount of chipping to the edges of the label, not affecting the lettering, but generally a very good copy.

Fine bright copies in original dustwrappers which have sun fading to the lettering on the spines, as often found with these volumes, making the lettering barely readable, and a few very minor spots.

Top edges dyed deep red, which is still a rich dark colour on all volumes. Patterned grey and white endpapers with rampant lion and Churchill's initials, designed by Lynton Lamb. Previous owner bookplate inside the first four volumes. In the publishers original dustwrappers with the same design background. Fine and clean wrappers with the spine lettering, including the red volume numbers and titles, vibrant and bright on all six volumes. Uncommon in such good condition. The red ink used for the volume numbers and sub titles is particularly prone to fading and copies without fading of the red, like this one, are hard to find. Two pages with very small tears to the bottom of the page, one with a small amount of loss, but well away from the text, otherwise a very good bright copy in the publishers original green cloth binding. Spine lettered in gilt. A small abrasion to the cloth at the bottom of the spine but generally a very good clean copy inside and out.

Dobson and Co. London. 1820. FIRST DOBSON EDITION. 8vo. [2], [11]-194, [492] pages. There is an error in the pagination: 44-73 are omitted in the page numbering but the text is complete. Illustrated with engraved portraits of Queen Caroline (frontispiece) and Bergami, and a large hand coloured folding plate showing a depiction of the Lords at the trial with a legend of the individuals present. One page with a small hole to the middle of the leaf and some offsetting to the two portrait engravings otherwise a very good copy in an attractive early fine leather binding of full mid brown calf. Both boards elaborately decorated with blind tooled multiple oval design panel within twelve ruled line border. An arc and star gilt roll has been tooled around the outside of the boards. Spine with four wide raised bands, each with gilt decorations. Compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Board edge corners with gilt ruled lines. Marbled endpapers. All edges marbled.

A complete copy with the 12 plates and printed brown paper front wrapper and plain rear one mounted onto tabs and bound in a late 20th century half dark red cloth binding with gilt lettering to the spine. Marbled paper on boards. Plain off-white endpapers. A previous owner's small attractive colour printed bookplate on front pastedown. Some spotting to the leaves but mainly in the plain margins.
