DJ has shelf-wear present to the DJ extremities (DJ is lightly scuffed and worn to the edges of the DJ). Bound in 1/2 cloth boards with titles present to the spine. Boards have light shelf-wear present to the extremities. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. An early volume in Plowden's now long term documentation of US industrial , commercial, and agricultural landscapes. This volume of mostly full page B/W images of US railroad infrastructure and workers is accompanied by Richard Snow's perceptive, insightful text, and was especially informed by Plowden's experience when a young man, as a trackman and assistant trainmaster. David Plowden (born October 9, 1932) , is an American photographer known for his historical documentary photography of urban cities, steam trains, American farmlands, and small towns. EB; 10.6 X 8.6 X 0.6 inches; 90 pages .
