Sobre este artículo
From the Estate of Barbara Walters. Spine bound in black cloth over patterned paper on boards. Bright gilt lettering on spine, book is tight, square, sharp-cornered and free of markings or flaws inside and out. Beige end-papers. Clipped Dust Jacket with unfaded blue background and yellow and white lettering and decorations. Spine with same. "the Baron and Baroness de Rothschild made their irrational journey to Russia in the dead of one recent winter. In weather so cold that their furs crackled when they moved, they spent long afternoons amidst the warmth and glitter of the Hermitage, called on artists and writers, and explored the mysteries of Byzantine monasteries and Russian hotels. Politics and the Cold War are only a dim background for this sparkling and intellectually elegant travel diary, a collection of the Baroness' entirely personal and infinitely varied impressions of a Russian winter." Quite scarce, particularly in this Near Fine condition. Now protected in archival quality mylar cover. Inscribed inside front board: For Jane Whitehill, From Augusta Molnar, Pittsburgh June 1, 1976
