Spine ends and corners lightly worn, spine slightly cocked, contents a tad shaken, some light hand-soiling to margins, else a clean, tight, surprisingly bright copy.
First edition. Newbolt 77.1. Stanley, a young man whose uncle is a trader on the Indian and Burmese rivers, sets out to join him just as war is declared by Burmah against England. He joins the military where his familiarity with Burmese customs and language make him of such use that he is added to Sir Archibald Campbell's staff.
