"Islands in the Stream" was the first of the posthumously published works of Ernest Hemingway. He began writing it in 1950. The work, rough but seemingly finished, was found by Mary Hemingway after his death. "Islands in the Stream" was meant to encompass three stories to illustrate different stages in the life of its main character, Thomas Hudson. It was made into the 1977 film was directed by Franklin J. Schaffner and starred George C. Scott, Hart Bochner, Claire Bloom, Gilbert Roland, and David Hemmings.
This is Ernest Hemingway's autobiographical novel in three parts titled "Islands in the Stream" It is a First edition, first printing. The Publisher: Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, 1970. The book comes with the original dust jacket which is in very good plus condition. The Octavo, original green cloth boards are well preserved; the edges are firm; overall there is very light shelf wear. The gilt lettering on the spine is almost new and legible as is the Author's gilt signature on the front of the novel. In short, this book has not been read. This novel-- is listed for up to $325.00.
Sinopsis
Islands in the Stream was published in 1970, nine years after Hemingway's death. Thomas Hudon is an painter and adventurer in the 1930s, and this tale documents his voyages from Bimini to antisubmarine action in Cuba and beyond.
