A detailed work on the Isle of Man, with chapters on geographical facts, the Manx people, Celtic bondage, Viking conquerors, the act of settlement, recent history, and much more. Written by William Ralph Hall Caine, a prolific British author of books and pamphlets. Illustrated by Alfred Heaton Cooper, an English watercolour artist. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the rear board with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with age toning to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
