This reprint of the 1617 edition is an exact reprint except the letters i, j, u and v have been altered to conform to modern usages and the adding of an index.
Limited to 100 copies on hand-made paper, numbered and initialed by the publisher. Fine in a Very Good Dust Jackets. Four volumes, [complete] large, thick 8vo; 468+466+499+521 pages; Illustrated with 12 plates (8 folding), 5 maps or plans, genealogical tables. Bound with vellum spines decorated with gilt titles and designs over red cloth with circular design in gilt on upper covers, Top edge gilt. Each volume in dust jacket. Jackets have slightly darkened spines and a few minor chips.. Deemed as one of the most excellent works of its kind, one of the greatest contemporary European accounts of its period and "a valuable and much esteemed work." [1]

Background Information:
Moryson traveled Continental Europe and the eastern Mediterranean lands during most of the decade of the 1590s. The work is of much value to historians for the detail Moryson observed traditions, social and economic conditions, and local customs. He was the personal secretary to Lord Mountjoy, commander-in-chief of England's army in Ireland. [2] He earned the reputation of being "a sober-minded and veracious traveller."[3]
