Fine/Dust Jacket Included. 1969. 8vo. 23.5cm, xxi,419p., with 15 illustrations, brown cloth, very good to fine in good jacket (aus) Browne's wry and deftly illustrated account of an 1857 hunting trip by a party of fifteen San Franciscans in California's northern coastal mountains was first published in several issues of Harper's New Weekly Magazine, 1861-1862. Richard Dillon calls these humorous sketches 'Browne's most characteristically western work.'.
