James Fenimore Cooper (September 15 1789 September 14 1851) was a prolific and popular American writer of the early nineteenth century. His historical romances of frontier and Indian life in the early American days created a unique form of American literature. In a half leather binding with cloth covered boards. Externally,rather rubbed. Front hinge strained and rear hinge slightly strained. Internally, firmly bound. Some spotting to the first and last few pages but otherwise generally clean. Tears to the outer margins of p.73 and p.77, not affecting the text. Good Only

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
