INSCRIBED by the author to the late noted Oklahoma book collector Larry Owens "with my gratitude for your continuing support" and signed Eugene (Nick Gaitano) Izzi. After a dispute with Izzi's previous publisher, Bantam, became contentious an unusual agreement was reached: Izzi could not publish under his own name for three years - and so he adopted the pseudonym of Gaitano. This was the final novel he wrote under those terms - and ironically, his last novel to be published during his lifetime. In December he was found dead in mysterious circumstances, a death ruled a suicide but one which left many questions. 256 pp.
