Edinburgh: William P. Nimmo, 1867. Half Bound Leather. Very good. 8vo; lx, 635pp; half-bound in brown leather and pebbled brown cloth; 5 banded spine, gilt stamped title and ornaments to spine; red sprinkled edges; clipping affixed to two fly-leaves; dedication page to His Royal Highness Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh; scuffing to spine with fading of gilt, endpapers have glue burn, light age-toning of paper; very good. A two-page editor's preface, a nine-page memoir of Dr. Jamieson, and 40 pages on the Origin of the Scottish Language precede the standard dictionary format of word and meaning.
