Orange card cover with french flaps, grey half title, title page & two free endpapers at rear, 16 pages, stitched. The last endpaper reads: "The Jealous God is from Eric Ambler's novel A Kind of Anger and is for private distribution by The Bodley Head Ltd. for their friends at CHRISTMAS 1964.in an edition of 200 copies". Unique presentation copy inscribed by Ambler on blue fountain pen on on the copyright page to To Otto Penzler: "Otto, with love, Eric Ambler, New York '89". The only Ambler inscribed example to have appeared for sale in decades. Otto Penzler is a writer, publisher, founder of The Mysterious Press & Ambler's publisher & friend for years. An extremely good copy.
