This copy signed and inscribed by the translator and book historian Douglas McMurtrie on the front endpaper: "To John Connor with the high esteem of Douglas McMurtrie, Sept. 3, 1926." At the paste-down is the handsome engraved bookplate of the recipient, John Frank Connor, who was a small press printer. NEAR FINE in Very Good slipcase. The fragile binding has some very small surface nicks of the spine, otherwise remains Fine/As New. The slipcase shows marginal losses at the corners, otherwise remains strong and distinct.
