Translation provided by Eve Lerner. Loose leaves laid into wrapper and issued in a hand-made box designed by Jeanne Frere. Measures 37 x 39 cm. The edition was limited to only 35 copies plus 10 A. C., numbered and SIGNED by both the poet and the artist. A fine, as-new copy. Destined to be a real "stopper" for Ferlinghetti collectors. The delicate paper label on the front panel of the box has a tear, else this item is in fine condition.

A sequence of nine original serigraphs (some in color) with explanatory text by the artist. One of only fifty copies, with each serigraph signed and numbered in pencil on the verso by de Vries. OCLC locates only the copy at the BN. OCLC: 469670123.

Illustrated with nine original color stone lithographs, full- page or double-spread. Printed on heavy Moulin à papier La Collinasca in Bodoni types by Francois Lafranca. Evrard's concluding essay on lithography is printed in French, and in German and English translations.

The book is illustrated with halftone reproductions after collages by Valentine Penrose plus an original etching by Pablo Picasso. This is number 249 of 350 copies, sur Velin which includes the Picasso etching with the 2 bars, the cancellation mark. This etching shows the cancellation bars on the right upper corner, and is numbered 249/350 in pencil. Pablo Picasso especially made the etching for the book and is titled 'The Couple'. The full etching sheet measures approximately 13 inches X 10 inches. The actual etching plate measures approximately 6 5/8 X 8 1/2 inches. Sometimes the etching and the book become separated; rare to begin with, it is even more rare to find the etching and book still being offered together.The softcover book is in very good condition, with clean white pages. Minute trace of rubbing to lower fore-tips, otherwise fine. First edition. With illustrative matter based on art weavings by Sandra Brownlee-Ramsdale, and with chants and stories by Dennis Bernstein. Copy #2 of fifteen numbered copies, specially bound with an original woven spine, signed by Lehrer, and with a swatch of weaving depicting an animal tipped to the front pastedown. There was also a trade issue of 635 ordinary copies in wrappers. "An extended visual fugue based on the long-forgotten but important [imaginary] animals of the earth ... this volume attempts to document the evolutionary and social patterns of these mytho-hysterical creatures." The book is illustrated with 8 etchings by Anthony Gross, with another set of the eight etchings, all signed, printed on hand made paper, housed in a box, loose as issued . Both folios are bound in buff cloth with brown morocco spines and lettered in gilt. There is a slight circular indentation on the last blank leaf to the book, the odd brown fox mark, otherwise a very good copy.

Revelation was written at the height of Christians prosecution by the Romans and the book as inspired many past literary masterpieces by the likes of Dante and Milton. For this edition the great American artist Allan Rohan Crite was inspired to produce fifteen relief engravings for possibly the ultimate illustrated edition of the book of Revelations. Revelations passionately speak against the power of evil and encourage Christians to resist even at the cost of martyrdom. Many critics considers this to be Crite's finest religious work. One volume (16 x 22 inches) Relief engravings were printed on Japanese paper and mounted on heavy paper handmade in Pescia Italy.
